Most of the jobs we do are just window cleaning. Meaning, we do the windows and frames only on any booked job. That’s it. But about 20% of our jobs include cleaning the window tracks.
This added service of cleaning window tracks is a thorough clean and generally gets done when quite a bit of dust and dirt has built up in the tracks of sliding doors and windows. It’s pretty unsightly. And frankly what’s the point of a good window clean if the window tracks are dirty?
If you want to do it yourself, it’s labourious and can be tyring but most maintenance jobs are. In this instance, cleaning the tracks means vacuuming and wiping each and every track throughout the house. Often they are very narrow and need the thin vacuum tip to get into those spots. Then it’s always best to wipe inside with a cloth so you get everything out. If you’re going to do it less often, then do it properly.
We recommend it gets done once a year at least. But sometimes more often if say you have a pet as pet hair gets in the tracks. Certainly if construction is going on around the property, it’s also a good idea to get it done when the building work has finished.
